Cries fill the air as the horrific scene unfolded. The look of disbelief covered the face of ever
by-passer. No one could believe what had just unfolded before their eyes. Revecca woke to the sudden
sound of sirens. She ran to the window to see what was going on. Down the road from her apartment
building there was a crowd collecting at the corner of main and Lakeside. She put on her robe and ran
to the elevator. Rebecca made it down to the crowd just in time to see bodies being carried out of a
pile of debree.
One of the people being carried out was someone very familiar to Rebeca. It was her mother,
Rebecca tried to make her way through the crowd but the accident was blocked off by police officers.
After explaining that it was her mother, the police officers let her pass so Rebecca could ride to the
hospital with her mother. While in the ambulance with her mom, Rebecca asked what happened. Her
mother told her to sit back and relax because, it was going to be a long ride.
Rebecca stared at her mother as she started to tell her story. Rebecca's mother closed her eyes as
if about to fall into a deep sleep. " It all started with a small explosion in the alley behind our building"
she said. "One of the police officers told me that someone put a small home made bomb in the trash
can behind the dumpster." "The next thing I knew I had made it outside the building to see what
happened and another bomb went off. That is the one that got everyone who was hurt or almost
everyone. "
Suddenly the alarm clock in Rebecca's room went off. She jumped out of bed extremely confused
and very worried about her mother. she ran out of her room and went to her mother's apartment
building. Rebecca repeatidly knocked on her mom's door until the door was finally opened. Rebecca's
mom was standing in the door way in her pajamas utterly confused about the condition that her
daughter was in. Rebecca seemed to be very distraught and confused when she walked into her mom's
apartment. Rebecca told her mom about her apparent dream and her mother began to laugh
hysterically. She explained to her daughter that it was all just a dream and that she was fine.
Later that week, everything that occured in Rebecca's dream came true. The only difference was that
this time it was the cold hard truth and not just a dream that she could shrug off and forget when
she wakes up.
